Bernard Emerson is a proud native and resident of Oakland. Bernard works with urban churches and partners with them to coach leaders. Passionate about serving urban areas, the move to plant a church East Oakland was a natural one. With a strong sense of God's call, Bernard partnered with Kyle Brooks to plant Tapestry Church in Oakland. In his free time Bernard loves to mentor "at risk" young men, ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and is an avid Miami Dolphins fan. He and his wife Kim have been married 30 years and have 5 children.

In-Person Service Returns!

June 27, 2021 UPDATE.

Starting July 11, we will no longer request you to RSVP for Bridge Sunday worship service (note: Cantonese service will continue to ask for RSVPs). If you like to come in-person on and after July 11, then come. The entry point will still be the garage and you will have to check in for tracking purposes just in case. We will continue to ask you to wear a mask during worship for the time being.

As for next Sunday, July 4, we will ask you to RSVP one more time. If you like to RSVP for July 4’s worship service, please email info@sfcac.org.

June 15, 2021 UPDATE.

It's June 15th. And in California, including the city and county of San Francisco, COVID-19 restrictions have been rescinded.

In response to this change, SFCAC will be assessing the situation and move accordingly. We as a church would like to open as fully as possible, but also in a spirit of love and concern for others. Therefore, SFCAC will continue its current COVID-19 protocols including limited in-person service, wearing of masks, and live-streaming our services online for the time being until our leaders can assess and make decisions together for the good of our church community and witness for Christ. Once decisions are made, we will let you know ASAP.

Until then, if you like to attend worship service this Sunday, please RSVP today by emailing info@sfcac.org.

Thank you so much for your understanding and support! If you have any questions, please connect with any of the pastors or the church office.

June 9, 2021

In-Person services are back! Well… because of current city guidelines, seating is limited as building capacity has been limited. Yet, last Sunday on June 6th, people were back to worship in-person! And it was great! Hearing songs sung. Ears listening to the message. Lifting prayers on high. Beautiful.

If you like to join us in person on Sundays, email info@sfcac.org and secure a seat. It’ll be great to have you!

If you aren’t able or still comfortable worshiping at home for the time being, our services are still livestreamed online. Just visit www.sfcac.org/live-stream.

grace&peace,

In Times of Fire...

New series on the Book of Mark starting this Sunday.

In Times of Fire_ Template (ENG).png

Why are we calling the new series, mainly on the Gospel of Mark,
Deep Rooted: In Times of Fire?

The theme "Deep Rooted" is the 2021 theme for SFCAC based on Isaiah 37. It is our desire as a church to grow more deeply in Christ, His gospel and word, so that we would be useful and fruitful in His kingdom work. To help us, we are studying Mark's Gospel together. This Gospel was written during a time of great challenge for church and of change for the world, especially for the Jewish and Christian communities. It is a telling of Jesus' life and ministry to an audience facing unprecedented hardship. It is about what it means to be a follower of Christ when the costs are high and the times are challenging... kinda like the times we live in...
